In July, our Growth and Commercial teams volunteered to support the Liverpool 6 Community Centre to refresh their garden space and provide summer flowering plants in their garden. Our 6 volunteers worked remotely from each other since the Covid-19 pandemic, so this was a much-needed team building activity, improving staff wellbeing, and giving something back to the local community.

Matthew Plumb – Commercial Manager commented: “It was great to be part of the group of volunteers offering time to the L6 Centre in Liverpool. I really enjoyed being able to give some time back to the local community where we actively work and seeing the positive impact this had on the community, clearing up, tidying, and bringing to life a large section of garden for all to enjoy. It was especially great doing this at a time where children will be breaking up for summer holidays and actively using the garden space more”.

The event was arranged via Match My Project to support social value commitments with Onward Homes. PH Jones provided skip hire and over £250 worth of plants and materials to transform the space into a clean, usable area for local children. The staff worked hard lifting waste into the skip and getting creative at rebuilding and planting pots around the garden.

Shirley Marshall – Head of Operations & Finance commented on Facebook: “Thanks so much to the volunteers from PH Jones for their hard work within the ground of our centre, it’s greatly appreciated”
