To support our social value commitments with Leeds City Councils two of our team volunteered to contribute to their Talk Money Week at Burmantofts Community Hub.
To tackle the cost-of-living crisis, the event is aimed at anyone who works or lives in the city, providing a week of free online sessions, offering guidance and support to help improve local peoples’ financial wellbeing.
Leeds City Council worked with their Money and Pensions Service and other partners including Jobshop, Yorkshire Water, Luminate Education Group, Citizens Advice Bureau to run the online webinars. Daily sessions provided guidance on mortgages, energy costs, tackling gambling issues and handling financial difficulties.
Yvonne Maher (Jobshop Team Leader) commented: “I just wanted to say thank you for attending the financial wellbeing event at Burmantofts Community Hub yesterday, it was appreciated that you invested time to support the Burmantofts community.”
