Over the past few weeks, our teams have been visiting primary schools across the UK, delivering our Get Set for Positive Energy sessions – helping young people understand how small actions can make a big difference to the planet.
Recently, Pricing Manager Alex Dingwall spent the morning at New Abbey Primary School in Dumfries and Galloway, working with P5–P7 pupils. It offered a brilliant opportunity to connect with the pupils who were already incredibly engaged and passionate about caring for the environment.
As part of the session, Alex shared the sustainability-themed story The Lumberjack’s Beard. It sparked great conversations around making thoughtful choices and how everyday actions can help create a greener future.
The highlight? Seeing the pupils bring energy-saving ideas to life through activity – quite literally. Through a fun “powering down” dance session, they explored how energy can be saved at home. Safe to say… their coordination was far better than Alex’s!
It was a fantastic morning, with really positive feedback from the pupils.
Moments like this are what our volunteering programme is all about – supporting local communities, inspiring young people and helping build a more sustainable future together. 💚
