PH Jones were proud to sponsor the Community Champion (Over 18s) award at the Trent & Dove Community Impact Awards on the 7th May, held at the Pirelli Stadium in Burton upon Trent. The evening was hosted by actor and comedian, Sally Phillips, (pictured) and celebrated individuals who make an outstanding contribution to their communities. It was a privilege to recognise the dedication and positive impact of local community champions.

The winner of our sponsored category was the truly inspirational Debbie Clark. For over 35 years Debbie has supported her community through youth clubs, bingo nights and fundraising events. She still continues this good work by running bingo sessions for isolated neighbours and hosts events for vulnerable children. Despite a lung cancer diagnosis in 2019, Debbie continues to give selflessly, putting others and her family first. The photo shows Debbie (left) with Director Andy Ball, the person who nominated her together with her husband.

Andy Ball, Director at PH Jones, commented: “Community champions play a vital role in strengthening neighbourhoods and supporting those around them, often without recognition or reward. We are proud to sponsor this award and to support Trent & Dove in celebrating individuals whose commitment and compassion make a real difference every day.”

The evening provided an opportunity to hear inspiring stories from across the Trent & Dove communities, highlighting the power of grassroots action and the positive outcomes that can be achieved when people are supported and empowered. For PH Jones, being involved in events such as the Community Impact Awards reinforces its focus on partnership working, community engagement and delivering positive social outcomes alongside core services.

PH Jones would like to congratulate all of the nominees and winners and thank Trent & Dove for hosting an event that truly champions the people at the heart of local communities.
